Worker Injured at St. Mary Sugar Co-op

A Saturday afternoon workplace accident resulted in second and third degree burns to a worker at St. Mary Sugar Co-Op in Jeanerette. The accident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. according to St. Mary Parish District 11 Fire Chief Clarence Clark.

Clark said the male worker was reportedly in stable condition when he was transported via Acadian Air Med to a Lafayette hospital.
