Body of Lafourche Parish Homicide Victim Found in Morgan City Wednesday Evening

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office began to investigate a missing person complaint. The complaint was in reference to a white male, Kirby Courteaux, being missing. The family of Courteaux reported that he had not been heard from since Saturday, 05-11-2019, at approximately 2:40 p.m., leaving Genes Bar in Montegut.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 15, 2019, the Morgan City Police Department was contacted by investigators with the Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office and Lafourche Sheriff’s Office in reference to a homicide investigation.

Through their investigation, it was learned that Courteaux was reportedly killed in Lafourche Parish. Further investigation led the Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Offices to Morgan City where the body of Courteaux was located in the area of Levee Rd. and Veterans Blvd. His body was recovered with the assistance of the Morgan City Police Department.

No other details have been provided, including if a suspect has been identified.
