A St. Mary Parish man has been arrested in a New Orleans shooting that left 10 victims injured with another St. Mary Parish area man still being sought. New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said Stafford Starks, 21, was arrested at his home in Baldwin on Tuesday. He is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and will be extradited back to Orleans Parish. Starks was reportedly injured in the shooting which occurred on Canal Street on Dec. 1. Police have also identified another suspect, LaBryson Polidore, 22, of Jeanerette.
It is believed that Polidore and Starks had a feud in St Mary’s Parish before going to New Orleans, and then allegedly opened fire when they saw each other. Both suspects will be charged with 10 counts of attempted second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and weapons charges. We do not yet know the exact St. Mary Parish towns in which the suspects reside.
