Second Suspect Arrested in Canal Street Shooting

The New Orleans Police Department says they have arrested the second suspect named in the Canal Street Mass Shooting that wounded 12 people on Dec. 1.

According to, LaBryson Polidore, 22, of St. Mary Parish, was being sought after police say he opened fire at another suspect, Stafford Sparks, 21, of Baldwin, in the 700 block of Canal Street. Polidore was captured in the Baton Rouge area early Wednesday morning.  Sparks was arrested on Tuesday at his home in Baldwin.

As of Wednesday morning, Sparks was still incarcerated in the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Both suspects will be charged with 10 counts of attempted second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and weapons charges once they are extradited to New Orleans.
