PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ryan Timothy Malain, 30, of 118 Simone Street, Pierre Part, LA, on Thursday morning following an incident at the Pierre Part School.
Early Thursday morning, the Sheriff’s Communications Division received a 911 call concerning an angry parent who went to the school and removed his child. Deputies were dispatched and a short time later, stopped Malain in the Pierre Part area and noted him to be hostile and unruly.
Deputies interviewed school personnel and determined that Malain had made a threat against his domestic partner which was also the mother of the child in question.
Deputies interviewed several persons associated with the complaint and eventually obtained consent to search the vehicle Malain was driving.
During the search, a quantity of meth-amphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia was seized.
Based on that search as well as witness and complainant statements, Malain was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Disturbing the Peace
*Illegal Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under Age 17
Malain posted bond in the amount of $35,000.
