The Franklin Mayor and Council appointed retired state trooper, Morris Beverly, as the new Franklin Police Chief during Tuesday’s council meeting. He was appointed by a unanimous vote of the council.
Beverly will replace interim chief, Tina Thibodeaux, who was appointed following the resignation of former chief, Sabria McGuire. McGuire resigned just days before Mayor Eugene Foulcard took office on July 1.
Foulcard told KQKI News following the meeting that nine applicants passed the Civil Service test which determined their qualifications.
