New Iberia Man Found Guilty in 2016 Fatal Shooting of16 Year Old Franklin Teen

Friday , in Franklin De’ondric Clarks (DOB: 01/26/2001), age 18, of New Iberia, LA) was found guilty of Second Degree Murder by a jury.  

On October 23, 2016, officers with Franklin Police Department responded to the 500 block of Augustine Maze Street in Franklin where they found the victim, Braylen Foulcard, (16 YOA), inside his vehicle having suffered a fatal gunshot wound.  Through investigation it was learned that the victim had arranged to meet Clarks to sell a cellphone.

The case was prosecuted by the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s office, Assistant District Attorney Erica Johnson Rose.  Sentencing has been set on November 22, 2019 before the Honorable Keith Comeaux.  Clarks faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
