A new fire chief and assistant chief have been appointed in Patterson. Mayor Rodney Grogan told KQKI News last week that members of the Patterson Volunteer Fire Department sent a letter to the Patterson City Council requesting they appoint new leadership for the fire department.

Up until Thursday, Scott Domingue served as fire chief for several years, while Scott Hutton served as assistant chief. As per the request of the fire department and by a vote of the council, Hutton has now been promoted to chief while Matthew Kidder is now the new Assistant Chief.

That action was taken at a special called meeting of the council on Thursday afternoon.  No reason was given as to why the department requested new leadership.
