Darrell Harris, 28, 122 Jolivette Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2018, at 3:35 pm on two bench warrants on the charges of attempted 2nd degree murder (2 counts) and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of a felony.
A deputy at the St. Mary Parish Headquarters made contact with Harris when he approached the dispatch window and turned himself in on active warrants for his arrest. The warrants stemmed from a situation at a business in Franklin on November 3 in which two victims were trying to break up a fight between two people when a witness observed Harris stab the victims. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $700,000.
