Patterson Man Wanted in Shooting Arrested In Lafayette

A Patterson man wanted in a shooting has been arrested in Lafayette near the Evangeline Thruway.

26 year old Randolph Joseph was captured this morning shortly before 11am after he was found swimming in a lake near the Evangeline Thruway. According to deputies, UL Lafayette Police were dispatched to the UL Lafayette Marine Survival Training Center in reference to a male who was seen swimming in the Airport Lake. The male refused to come out of the water which prompted officers to contact the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue to help. The male in the water was identified as Joseph. Deputies with the assistance were able to get Joseph out of the water and he was detained by officers.

It was learned by deputies that Joseph had an arrest warrant from Patterson Police for 2 counts of Attempted Murder and multiple firearms charges.

Patterson Police is still looking for 20 year ol Kirt Favors, Jr. in that shooting.

Joseph was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
