King David Patterson and Queen Caylee Deshotel of the 83rd Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival

Saturday, August 25th, Mr. David Patterson and Miss Caylee Deshotel were crowned as the 83rd Anniversary Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival King and Queen.

Mr. David Patterson is currently the CFO/Sec.-Treas./Stockholder of Central Boat Rental, Inc. Central Boat Rentals is a marine transportation business who specializes in providing tugboat and barge rental equipment to the petroleum industry. Mr. Patterson is also the CFO/Sec.-Treas./Co-owner of Bayou Testers & X-Ray Services, which performs NDT (Non-destructive Testing Services) and Acadiana Testing & Heating, which performs pre and post weld heat-treating services throughout the Gulf Coast area.

Mr. Patterson is a 1980 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Morgan City and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University in 1984.

Mr. Patterson currently serves on the Advisory Council and Finance Committee of Central Catholic Elementary School. He is a past President of the Holy Cross Elementary Advisory Board and former Treasurer of the St. Mary Golf & Country Club Board. He is a current member of the American Petroleum Institute (API), St. Mary Industrial Group (SMIG), American Welding Society (AWS) and the American Society of Non Destructive Testing (ASNT).

Mr. Patterson, a resident of Berwick is married to Kellye Barbier Patterson and has five children; a son, Bradley and four daughters, Kimberly, Whitney, Wrenn and Elizabeth.

Mr. Patterson has lived in the Morgan City and Berwick areas all of his life. He enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing and LSU sports.

Caylee Deshotel, 19, is the daughter of Christy and Sonny Deshotel of Morgan City. Deshotel is a graduate of Morgan City High School. She is currently on a Pre-Law track studying Public Relations at Louisiana State University. She is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Alpha Delta Pi’s Omega Chapter. She serves as the Social Media Chair for the Recruitment and Marketing Team. She is also on the Sisterhood Committee and Risk Management Team. She has been on the Dean’s List for both semesters at LSU. During high school, she was awarded Valedictorian, as well as numerous other awards. Deshotel enjoys traveling, photography, attending summer camps, playing tennis, working for her sorority, reading blogs, boat riding, volunteering, working retreats, meeting new people and event planning.
