Kevin Diamond, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 54 on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph in Lafayette following a long and hard fought battle with cancer.
Kevin was a longtime employee with Vaccarella’s Auto Repair Shop in Franklin. He was fortunate to love his work and was very good at it. Kevin was also a skilled woodworker who loved turning the ordinary into beautiful works, and also enjoyed gunsmithing. Of all his passions in life though, what brought him the most joy and pride was following his daughter in all of her sporting activities. He will be fondly remembered for his genuine smile and laid back nature and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 26 years, Cathy Hebert Diamond; daughter, Paige Marie Diamond; mother, Delicia “Dell” LeBlanc Diamond; sister, Christine Diamond Tamporello; father-in-law, Earl “Butch” Hebert and his wife Linda; sisters-in-law, Michael Ann Hebert and Lisa Catherine Hebert, brother-in-law, William “Chucky” Hebert; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William L. “Bill” Diamond; sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Bouton; brother-in-law, Angelo Tamporello; mother-in-law, Geraldine “Geri” Williams; an infant brother, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, July 9, 2018, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin beginning at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Following services he will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
