Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on Friday, June 29, 2018, Terrebonne Parish detectives began an investigation regarding threats and extortion. The victim is this matter is a 56 year old ex-boyfriend of the suspect.
The victim provided text messages that he received from the suspect. The messages read that if he did not deposit an undisclosed amount of money into her bank account and purchase a vehicle for her she would post on social media that he was having sexual relations with young females. The suspect who was identified as Dania Sarai Gonzales Calix was sending the messages from Boutte, La. which is in St. Charles Parish.
TPSO detectives made contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and provided them with the information regarding this investigation. Detectives then coordinated an operation for the victim to meet with the suspect and deliver an empty envelope to the suspect in St. Charles Parish while TPSO and SCPSO conduct surveillance.
Later during the evening this operation was executed in the parking lot of a business on La. Highway 90 in Boutte while detectives conducted surveillance. After the victim delivered the empty envelope to the suspect (Calix) she was taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the St. Charles Parish Jail as a fugitive. TPSO detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for extortion.
On Monday, July 2, 2018, 24 year old Dania Sarai Gonzales Calix, of 3400 Chateau Blvd. Kenner, La. was picked up by TPSO and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where she remains on a $50,000.00 bond.
