16 year old Charged With Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that a 16-year-old juvenile male was charged on Tuesday in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on June 07, 2018 near Frank Lane off of LA 308 in Belle Rose, LA.

On that date, detectives responded to a local hospital after being notified that an individual was being treated for a gunshot wound to the face.
Upon investigation, detectives determined that the victim had been shot in the face following a verbal confrontation in the Frank Lane area. Investigators interviewed witnesses and recovered evidence from the scene. As a result of the investigation, the 16-year-old suspect was identified.

Detectives secured a verified complaint, approved by a judge, ordering the juvenile to be held on one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

The suspect turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday and was booked on a count of:
*Attempted Second Degree Murder

The accused is being held at a juvenile detention facility pending court proceedings. The suspect was not identified due to his age.
