SANDBAGGING PREPARATION AHEAD OF ANTICIPATED HIGH WATER CONDITIONS IN ASSUMPTION PARISH

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon has brought in equipment for sandbagging in preparation of upcoming high-water conditions.
Sheriff Falcon met earlier this week with Police Jury President, Marty Triche to carve out plans before the high-water conditions arrive.

Sheriff Falcon called in equipment and manpower from Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel, LA, to get ahead of the event.

The equipment has the ability to bag 10,000 sand bags per day per machine. There are currently two sets of equipment and manpower in the parish as of Thursday morning. The equipment will be in the parish for two days this week and Sheriff Falcon is trying to arrange for two days next week.
Sheriff Falcon, OEP and the Police Jury will keep residents apprised of impending conditions.
Sheriff Falcon sends a huge thank you to Elayn Hunt Correctional and Mr. Timothy Hooper for allowing us use of their equipment and inmate labor.
