Franklin man charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with October 2017 fire, domestic homicide case

On October 6, 2017, at approximately 2:23 AM, the Franklin Police Department received a 911 call of a subject that was injured at a residence with smoke also coming from the residence in the area of the 1700 block of West Ibert Street. Detectives with the Franklin Police Department, along with the State of Louisiana Fire Marshal’s Office, examined the crime scene. The incident was ruled as a domestic homicide which claimed the life of 40 year old Celina Hull.

As a result of the investigation, Donald Hull, Jr., 52, of Ricohoc Dr., Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 9, 2018, at 1:13 PM, on a warrant dated February 20, 2018 for second degree murder. Hull was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

The Franklin Police Department, Franklin Fire Department and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted in investigation efforts and the investigation is ongoing. Any questions in regards to this case should be referred to the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
