GEORGIA TEACHER BARRICADES HIMSELF IN CLASSROOM, FIRES GUN

A high school teacher in Georgia barricaded himself inside a classroom yesterday (February 28th) and fired a handgun, sending students fleeing outside the school or hiding in classrooms and locker rooms, before he was arrested by police after a standoff that lasted less than an hour. No students were in the Dalton High School classroom when 53-year-old social studies teacher Jesse Randal Davidson fired the weapon, and no one was injured. Davidson refused to tell police what led to the shooting, however police said that they had twice in recent years encountered him displaying odd behavior and wrote in a report that he might be “delusional.”
