2 Arrested in Iberia Parish, 1 for 2 Counts of Attempted Murder and 1 For Armed Robbery

Iberia Parish Deputies have captured and arrested 28-year-old Kenneth “Yogi” Gauthier.  Gauthier was wanted on 2 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder for the January 7th shooting where he wounded two people.  It is believed that Gauthier was shooting at a vehicle with an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle near Anderson St. and Shot St. when he hit the driver of the vehicle and a nearby pedestrian.  Gauthier was located at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Anderson Street.  Gauthier fled from deputies and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

While executing a search warrant at the apartment where Gauthier was hiding, investigators located 24-year-old Dwayne Butler who was wanted for Armed Robbery.  Butler has been identified as the suspect who robbed a New Iberia convenience store with a handgun on January 11th.  Both Gauthier and Butler have been booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
