Juvenile Services Section Investigates Pills Found at School, 1 Arrest Made

A 14 year old Male Juvenile was arrested yesterday (January 10, 2018) for possession of Schedule IV (clonazepam) with the intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

According to St Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum, A School Resource Officer investigated a report of clonazepam pills being located at Patterson High School. The School Resource Officer collected evidence that a student brought pills to school and gave them to 2 other students. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. The case remains under investigation.

Sheriff Scott Anslum commends school administrators for their swift action and assistance in the case. Anslum says, “By working together we can help ensure that our schools remain drug free and that children are connected with the people and services that can help them.”

The investigation is ongoing.
