Video Catches Attempted Vehicle Burglar in the Act – Arrested Shortly After

Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced the arrest of Terrance Vicks (B/M, 23) for Attempted Simple Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.

On Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Police were called to the 100 Block of Estate Drive. The victim saw on the video surveillance camera of their home someone pulling on his vehicle door handle, which was parked in his driveway. The vehicle was locked, so the suspect moved on.

Police saw someone matching the description of the suspect walking on South Acadia Road near Audubon. After making contacted, they discovered it was Terrance Vicks. Vicks eventually admitted to pulling on a vehicle door handle, but did not know the description of the vehicle. Terrance Vicks was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center for booking.

“Locking your vehicles can go a long way in the protection of your property,” said Chief Zeringue. “Many burglars are looking for unlocked, easy targets.”
