Local Schools Waiving School Uniforms Due To Freezing Temps

St. Mary Schools resume classes tomorrow after the holidays and some schools are waiving the uniform policy due to freezing temps. St. Mary Parish School Superintendent Leonard Armato said that this decision to allow certain school clothing is the school’s discretion. This will only be allowed on Thursday and Friday.

Students as well as faculty may wear alternate warm weather clothing which includes jeans, lined jogging pants, sweatshirts, and sweaters.

EXCLUDED: Tights, leggings or shorts, worn as outerwear.

The following schools will honor this relaxed policy:

Berwick Elementary, Junior High and High (spirit or uniform shirt)

Holy Cross Elementary & Central Catholic High

Immanuel Christian

JS Aucoin

Hattie Watts

Centerville High

Morgan City High (spirit or uniform shirt)

Patterson Junior High and High Schools

***Raintree Elementary will close due to waterline break in Baldwin***

Students at the following schools will have to wear uniforms but are allowed to wear heavy coats, scarves, hats, and other appropriate attire:
