William “Bill” F. Snelson, a native of Hardin, Illinois and a longtime resident of Patterson was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the age of 74.
Bill was known for his humorous nature, he was the type of soul who liked to ‘stir the pot’ (and not meaning cooking). Kind and generous, he adored his family, working hard and diligently to provide them with all they needed. This was especially true, when it came to leading by example in regards to his deep and abiding faith in his Lord and Savior. A good friend described Bill’s gift as, one serving others. This was shown during his actions while Barbequing for his church, family, and anyone who asked or needed. Bill’s presence and love will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Those left to cherish Bill’s beautiful memories are his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Hill Snelson of Patterson; his daughter, Cynthia ‘Cyndi’ Johnson of Bayou Vista; two grandchildren, Aimee Chiasson and her husband, Noah, and Jayson Johnson and his wife, Peytyn; two great grandchildren, Jolie and William Johnson; two brothers, Jake Snelson, and his wife, Mary, and Jim Snelson and his wife, Norma; and one sister, Bonnie Ribardi and her husband, John.
He joined in heaven his two sons, William ‘Billy’ F. Snelson and Stephen Mark Snelson; his parents, Willard and Marie Snelson; his son-in-law, David Anthony Johnson.
The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 8am until time of dismissal at Hargrave Funeral Home.
