Police arrested a Morgan City man Wednesday morning on warrants of theft over $25,000 and unlawful production of fraudulent documents after investigators with the Morgan City Police Department found improprieties at a local business stemming from an investigation that began on November 15, 2016. Ludger C. Couvillion, 35, of Morgan City was allegedly linked to evidence in the theft of $164,054.97 from the business. It was also found during the investigation that Couvillion allegedly fabricated fraudulent documents in connection with the theft. Warrants were prepared for Couvillion’s arrest. On September 13, 2017, Couvillion was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on the active warrants. Couvillion was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
