Franklin Arrest Report 8-11-2017

The Franklin Police Department responded to 11 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:

 

The following arrest stems from an incident that occurred in May, 2017. On May 31, 2017, at approximately 10:17 PM, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a stop sign violation on Anderson St.. The vehicle refused to stop for officers and continued to travel down Anderson St. failing to stop at several stop signs, driving erratically. The driver, later identified as Wilbert Guy Jr., continued to travel in the same manner through the private property of Ameripure and preceded onto Martin Luther King Blvd. Guy failed to stop at several stop signs on Martin Luther King Blvd. before turning onto Main St. traveling in the wrong lane of travel on Main St. The vehicle then struck oncoming traffic and a lamp post in the area of Iberia St. and Main St. There were three vehicles involved with a total of five occupants.

Wilbert Guy Jr., 20, of Second St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 10, 2017, at 4:01 PM, on warrants dated May 31, 2017, for the charges of reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated obstruction of a highway, aggravated flight from an officer, possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substance, prohibited acts, one way roadways, stop sign violation (5 cts.), and establishing of speed zones. Guy was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

Donald McDaniel Jr., 18, of Percy St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 10, 2017, at 7:14 PM, on a warrant for Third Ward City Court for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. McDaniel was booked, processed, and released on a $200.00 bond.

Deandre Grismore, 30, of Ash St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 10, 2017, at 8:03 PM, on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery, criminal trespassing, and disturbing the peace by fighting. Grismore was additionally charged with resisting an officer by giving false information. Grismore was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
