The Franklin Police Department responded to 14 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:
Mark Wesley, 22, of Easy St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 9, 2017, at 11:59 AM, on warrants dated March 11, 2017, charging him with aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons, and simple criminal damage to property. Officers responded to a complaint in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who advised that while in the area of Ninth St. Wesley allegedly used a firearm to shoot at the victim hitting the victim’s vehicle. Wesley was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Michael Morris Jr., 18, of Talbot St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 8, 2017, at 5:28 PM, on warrants dated June 28, 2017, charging him with armed robbery. Officers responded to the area of Iberia St. in reference to looking for suspects involved in an armed robbery that had taken place in the area of Oneal Chube St. Upon further investigation and speaking with the victim, it was learned that Morris was allegedly involved in the robbery. Morris was booked, processed, and remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
