Almetra J. Franklin, St. Mary Community Action Agency CEO, announces the agency’s first annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply/Uniform drive. The event is sponsored by St. Mary CAA and the Franklin City Marshall’s Office, Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at the Family Dollar Store, 1814-A Main Street in Franklin, La. The event begins at 9:00 am until noon. Free Hot Dogs and Drinks will be provided. We’re asking for community support in collecting school supplies and uniforms for our Head Start children.
Requested Supplies include: Construction Paper, Boxes of Colors, Scissors, Liquid Hand Soap, Washable Markers, Wide Ruled Tablet, Glue, Kleenex, Paper Towels, Book Packs, and Kinder Mats.
In conjunction with the school supply drive, Franklin City Marshall Corey Burgess and his office will be collecting school uniforms through September 1st, 2017. Drop off points for the uniforms are the City Marshall’s Office – 317 Willow Street or St. Mary CAA at 1407 Barrow Street, Franklin, La. Uniforms consist of navy blue pants, shorts, dresses, or skorts and white (polo style) shirts with short or long sleeves.

St. Mary CAA/Head Start maintains and operates 18 facilities, including 13 Head Start Centers throughout St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes, and two Central Office locations. The agency is a 501 (c)3 tax-exempt, human service organization that has been serving families and communities since 1967.
The Head Start Program is free and open to all children between the ages of three and five, and meet all current approved guideline requirements. All families who meet the guidelines are welcome to apply for enrollment of their children.
