Belle Rose man arrested on rape charge

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Terrance Dupaty, of Belle Rose, on Friday in connection with the incident near Belle Rose on March 21, 2017.  The sheriff’s office said investigators responded to a complaint of a rape which allegedly occurred at the North Assumption Parish home.

A juvenile advised detectives that Dupaty allegedly entered her bedroom and proceeded to rape her. The victim said she struggled with Dupaty but her resistance was overpowered.  Detectives obtained information during the initial and subsequent investigation which corroborated the victim’s statements.

An arrest warrant was applied for and received on August 3, 2017 charging Dupaty with one count of First Degree Rape.

Dupaty was arrested at his residence on Friday, August 4, 2017. Dupaty was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of first degree rape.  Dupaty remains incarcerated in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
