Bayou Vista man arrested for burglary and vagrancy; stolen items returned to owners

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bayou Vista man Saturday for three counts of simple burglary and vagrancy.  The Sheriff’s Office said, in a press release, that 18-year-old Christopher Percle was arrested after a deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a male subject rummaging through a plastic container in a vacant parking lot on Saturday.  The deputy stopped to speak with the subject and identified him as Percle. While speaking with him, the deputy collected evidence that the items Percle had were stolen. Through investigation, the deputy found that Percle stole a bicycle from a residence on Highway 182 and stole a wallet and plastic container and tools from unlocked vehicles at residences on Southwest Road and Seventy-Nine Pines Lane. The items were returned to the owners. Percle was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
