KQKI 95.3 FM has teamed up with the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce to host the 2017 Country Showdown during the Bayou BBQ Bash from 6 pm until 9 pm on Friday, July 14 in Downtown Morgan City. The staff and management of KQKI are grateful to St. Mary Chamber of Commerce President Donna Meyer and her staff for offering to host this year’s Showdown.
“What a great addition to our BBQ Bash. This is our 6th year and we are excited about having KQKI participate, having all of that wonderful music; I think it’s going to be wonderful,” Meyer said.
While the staff and management of KQKI believes the Bayou BBQ Bash provides a great venue for the Country Showdown, Meyer said she feels hosting the Showdown will enable the BBQ Bash to attract new visitors to the area. “Last year, we had about 60 cooking teams and they were from Texas and all over Louisiana. And I look towards the Country Showdown to bring in other people from other parts of the state and outside of the state as well. I think it’s great for tourism,” Meyer said.
The 6th Annual Bayou BBQ Bash will be held on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15, under the U.S. 90 bridge in Downtown Morgan City.
More details on the Country Showdown, including registration information, will be forthcoming in the near future.
