Franklin Man Charged With 3rd Offense DWI

Jason Lanclos, 44, 8549 Highway 90, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2018, at 2:54 pm for driving while intoxicated-3rd offense and driving on roadway laned for traffic.

Deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a business in Centerville in response to a possible drunk driver. When deputies arrived, they made contact with a man who described the driver and the vehicle he was operating. Deputies observed the vehicle leaving the business and followed. While following, the deputies observed the vehicle swerving erratically into the opposite lane of traffic. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Lanclos. Through the stop, Lanclos was losing his balance and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person.

The deputies conducted field sobriety in which Lanclos performed poorly. Lanclos was transported to the Franklin Police Department for testing on the Intoxilizer 9000 which testing his blood alcohol content to be 0.108g%. Lanclos was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
