Christian was a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, being born on Tuesday, October 6, 1981 and passed away suddenly at the all too young age of 37 on Saturday, February 2, 2019, as the result of a brain aneurysm.
He was a loving son, husband, and father whose family meant the world to him. He loved and he loved hard with all of his heart. He was a huge LSU fan, considering himself as their #1 fan. He had a passion for cooking, especially boiling crawfish, which many considered to be the best. He was an avid outdoorsman, he especially loved being in his boat and being at the camp with his family. Christian was a longtime employee of Cardinal Lumber in Patterson, having started as a teenager part-time, working alongside his Father, Parrain, and Nanny. He was a Cajun-MacGyver who could fix anything he put his mind to and always had a project going on. Christian was a God-fearing man who believed in prayer and giving from the heart. A couple of his favorite saying was, “God don’t like ugly” and “You gotta get your blessings.” He believed that being a blessing to others brought blessings full circle, and he lived it. And in his words, “Dats Rite!”
His memory will forever life in the hearts of his wife, Rose Marie Martin; their children, Emily Rose and Paula Katherine; his parents, Lonny Ray LaVerne and Cheryl Boudreaux LaVerne; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray Andrew LaVerne and Mildred Eva Verrette LaVerne; his maternal grandparents, Johnny L. Boudreaux and Billie Hardee Boudreaux; as well as by one uncle and three aunts.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Cardinale, Jeremy Mitchell, Jude Duval, Keith Abel, Jacob Legendre, and Matthew Legendre. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Cardinale, Kenny Cornes, Roland Barrilleaux, Jean Paul Bourgeois, Joe Duck, Toby Adams, Devin Pichoff, Derek DelaHoussaye, and Curtis “Billy” Martin III.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your prayers during their time of sorrow and pain and reminds everyone to tell those in your life “I love you” often, for we never know when God the Father will call our loved ones home. They also take comfort in knowing that through their pain and loss other lives will be forever change because of Christian’s gift of organ donation.
