Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

Garry Elliott W/M 35, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 09:51 AM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA

Brandie Ramsour W/F 40, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 10:22 AM for

  • ST. MARY PARISH WARRANT FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR A STOP SIGN VIOLATION

Stephanie Farison W/F 28, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 10:22 AM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Antoinette Farison W/F 60, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 10:22 AM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA

On September 9, 2019 at approximately 09:33 AM the Berwick Police Department responded to a disturbance call on River Road. Upon arrival officers detected an odor of Marijuana coming from the residence. Elliott was found to have Marijuana on his person. Consent was given to search the residence at which time Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were found inside the residence. It was later learned that the Marijuana belonging to Stephanie was destined to be sold. A warrants check revealed that Ramsour had an active warrant for her arrest. All were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Elliott was booked on the charge of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana. Antoinette was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Stephanie was booked on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ramsour was booked on the active warrant for Failure to Appear for Stop Sign.  

Peter Dupre W/M 60, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 1:52 PM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF A FIREARM IN THE PRESENCE OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE
  • TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING DRUG PROCEEDS
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Vonda Dupre W/F 56, River Road Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 1:52 PM for

  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE IV CDS XANAX
  • POSSESSION OF A FIREARM IN THE PRESENCE OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE
  • TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING DRUG PROCEEDS.
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

On September 9, 2019 at approximately 12:21 PM officers with the Berwick Police Department along with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office executed a narcotics search warrant at the Dupre’s residence on River Road. During this time, officers made contact with Vonda and Peter Dupre. A search of the residence resulted in finding a large amount of Marijuana along with Xanax pills, items of drug paraphernalia and a large amount of US currency. It was learned that the Marijuana and Xanax pills were destined to sell and that the monies were derived from the illegal sales of narcotics. Also during the search a handgun was located in the residence. Vonda and Peter were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Upon arrival, Peter was booked on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Transactions involving Drug Proceeds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Vonda was booked on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS Marijuana, Possession of Schedule IV CDS Xanax, Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Transactions involving drug proceeds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Robert Carter Askew W/M 53, Techeview Drive Berwick was arrested on September 9, 2019 at 3:33 PM for

  • DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY (WARRANT)
  • AGGRAVATED BATTERY (WARRANT)
  • HIT AND RUN DRIVING (WARRANT)

On September 9, 2019 at 3:33 PM Askew turned himself to the Berwick Police Department for active warrants for his arrest. The warrants stem from an incident on September 8, 2019 where Askew is accused of committing a battery on the victim  and also allegedly struck the victims vehicle with his own vehicle and left the scene. Askew was placed under arrest and booked on the warrants for Domestic Abuse Battery, Aggravated Battery, and Hit and Run Driving.
